Biography

Vera Capilé was born in Dourados – Mato Grosso do Sul, from a family of old school, serenade and chorinho singers and musicians, and has lived in Cuiabá since she was 11 years old. Its musical culture is influenced by the experience with the borders of Paraguay, creating the melodic fusion that built our rasqueado with the sound of the rezadeiras, with the siriri, the viola de cocho, the ganzá in the influences of the Pantanal basin. This meeting point of so many sanor cultures forged a voice and attitude that shelter an ethnic and cultural diversity of unique richness, moving through sacred and profane music. Vera sang in public for the first time at the age of 5, having already started playing the piano, at the age of 11 she began to learn to play the accordion, studying with Dunga Rodrigues. 

In 1982 he joined Rádio A Voz D’oeste where he participated in freshman programs. It is led in its singing with instrumentals by maestros China and Penha. Later he creates and develops a radio program under his leadership and participation as a singer. She married very early, leaving her singing career when she had already received an invitation to record with a producer at RCA Victor. At the age of 45, he returned to singing in public, when he also graduated in Psychology. His first CD is from 1988 – Cuiabá um Canto de Amor; the second . 2000 - Flor de Laranjeira, with musical directors Abel Santos and Fabrício Carvalho respectively. 

He gave his body and soul to his musical work, forming an accompaniment band and focusing his efforts on the fight for the union of artists from the Central West and the Amazon in a network called “nós do Mato”. In 2004 she was selected for the Pixinguinha Project (a reference in Brazilian culture and music) performing in shows from Brasília to Roraima, together with musicians such as Juarez Moreira, Renato Braz, Nivaldo Ornellas and the singer and composer Simone Guimarães. 

The following year he participated in Paris, in the Year of Brazil in France. He also performs with orchestras such as the Mato Grosso Symphony and UFMT Symphony. She is a citizen of Cuiabana, having received several other titles and decorations for her contribution to culture and music, including Master of Culture. 

Vera is a composer, having recorded songs in selections from the diversity of composers in Mato Grosso. His artistic verve welcomes the meeting of the arts on stage, exercising his speech and singing with strength and loving expression in the encounter of the Portuguese and Spanish languages. 
Anchored in the culture of the Cerrados, Pantanal and Amazon, it performs music from regional composers to concerts that include composers such as Villa Lobos, and its favorite encounter with cirandas. His song is universalist.
